I know your work from some forums. I especially like your monochromes. I read your tutorial on this subject but find it very hard to generate this amazing contrast and tonalrange your B&W work shows in my own images. I just wanted to write and thank you for your very helpful and wonderful tutorials of your techniques. It is quite rare these days when people share as openly as you have on how you created these very intriguing images and the way you achieved them.

I was exploring the Radiant Vista site, of which I am a member and saw one of your recent posts which led me to your site. I must say as a fellow photographer I really admire your wonderful photographs. I was very impressed with your HDR photos, which has inspired me very much.

I came across your Technical Stuff section and low and behold found your very useful techniques regarding HDR in addition to B&W and sharpening techniques. I found all of them to be very educational.

Terrific portfolio Alan!Your eye for landscapes is excellent! Ive enjoyed many of your photos on the RV but have missed a few that are on this site.The Spire, Bare Tracks and in particular The Mill on the Hill remind me of a fairly famous style of 19th century paintings called the Hudson River School. These three images highlight richly saturated, highly detailed pastoral settings that are simply wonderful.Nicely done!

An easy to navigate site with some excellent photos, will be checking it out regularly to look for more new additions to the galleries. Particularly like the people section, very interesting. Well done.
